Anderson Dahlen, Inc has a full service machine shop with several unique capabilities

We have one of the largest CNC lathes in the upper Midwest. It was installed in 2012 and it gives us the ability to turn with precision parts that are up to 315.50″ long and 51.0″ in diameter. The machine features live tooling on the turret so we can drill and tap holes as well as mill slots.

Our horizontal milling capabilities stand out as well. We have three machines with the largest being able to handle parts that are up to 236 length, 138 width & 87 tall. New Toshiba BP-150 R35 Horizontal Mill

We have the only vertical turning lathe in Minnesota with live tooling. This gives us the flexibility to turn and mill using the same set-up on large rings and flanges. This is definitely a competitive advantage when turning large parts that require milling.

Our Machining capabilities combined with our fabrication capabilities set Anderson Dahlen apart

We can be your one stop shop for large projects that require parts to be fabricated from plate, welded and then machined prior to assembly. We often work on parts that need to be welded then machined then welded again to complete the part. The ability to do this all in one shop greatly reduces the time it takes to complete the part and eliminates the need for the part to be shipped back and forth to subcontractors.

Anderson Dahlen is a full service sheet and plate fabricator

We differentiate ourselves from our peers through two significant ways – our unique services and our skilled craftsmen.

While specializing in supplying fabrication services to the capital equipment market for the last 30 years, we have developed a team of trained professionals who are able to set up and run each job independently. Because we don’t do long runs of production parts, all of our fabricators need to be skilled in all aspects of the fabrications process. They are much more than just machine operators.

Everything starts with good layout. Our CAD team breaks down the fabrications into their individual parts. They are then routed to the cutting process that best suits the part’s requirements.

water jet cutting

We have water jet cutting, laser cutting and plasma fabrication processing in house

Our water jet table is one of the largest in the Midwest at 13 feet wide by 32 feet long. It can cut a wide variety of materials up to 24 inches thick, and the table is serviced with a crane capable of handling parts weighing up to ten tons.

Once cut, the parts typically move into our forming department. We have seven press brakes with the largest having 500 tons of forming power.

Whether you need a relatively simple component or a complex piece of equipment, the possibilities truly are endless

The experience of our people makes the difference in every one of our operations. When it comes to setting up and forming parts correctly, we have that experience. Our typical employee has over 15 years of fabrication experience. We often have parts that weigh over 3,000 pounds. And when you have to make only one, getting it right the first time is critical.
