Anderson Dahlen Expansion to Support Existing & New Customers
“By offering advanced fabrication, welding and machining capabilities on a very large scale; ADI continues to offer unique solutions and greater capacity to our customers” said Don Castle, Operations Manager.
Anderson Dahlen recently initiated an 90,000 ft2 expansion to their primary facility in Ramsey, MN. The company will add significant new large envelope machining capacity, including a Toshiba BP-150.R35 4 axis horizontal mill with 6 meter X-axis by 3.5 meter Y-axis travel. The expanded facility will also include a 5,000 ft2 clean welding bay exclusively for vacuum chamber welding and assembly; 12,000 ft2 dedicated assembly space providing additional capacity for the assembly of turnkey equipment and systems; 12,000 ft2 additional warehouse to support vendor managed inventory programs; and 40,000 ft2 of dedicated stainless steel welding bays including additional crane capacity to 30 tons throughout the facility.
Anderson Dahlen provides engineered custom solutions for customers in wide variety of industries. The primary factors in the decision to expand include larger scale projects and higher volume demands from its customer base, as well as new business from recently acquired businesses. “We have experienced significant growth with our traditional customer base, also thru acquisition of multiple businesses in the past 2 years” said Thomas Knoll, President. “Our total revenue increased nearly 40% since 2013, and we expect the recent pace of growth to continue,” Knoll added.
Last year Anderson Dahlen acquired Checker Spiral Steam Ovens, combining it with their own linear steamers and expanding the total product offering. Along with that purchase Anderson Dahlen added several key Checker design, sales and manufacturing people to their staff to support existing customers and new product sales. Combining Spiral steam oven cooking with linear steam oven cooking make continuous process steaming of any product our specialty.
In 2013, Anderson Dahlen acquired Applied Vacuum Technology which designs and manufactures custom chambers, welded assemblies, flanges and precision components for HV / UHV / XHV requirements. ADI’s engineering and manufacturing resources also support customers involved in a variety of vacuum applications; including systems for ALD, CVD, Evaporation, Sputtering and other vacuum coating processes. “Having three production facilities located near Minneapolis helps us collaborate and share Engineering, Manufacturing and other resources. Together we offer a total solution for our customers” said David Knoll, AVT’s President.
